SOMA Contemporary presents “Three Colours – Red”.the second in a series of exhibitions investigating the Primary Colours and their acquired meanings
Opening reception will be held on Thursday April 14 at 7:00 pm, with a live art performance by Karmel Daly.
Red is Passionate. It is a strong colour that conjures up a range of seemingly conflicting emotions from passionate love to violence and warfare. This formsthe exhibition’s context, to provide an overarching setting for the works, all of which include or are produced in red. Participating artists have been asked toexpress their own thoughts on red’s fundamental values. The aim is not merely to interact with the perceptual property on a theoretical level, but to find a morepersonal, creative approach which, against the exhibition’s guiding motif of the colour red, allows the individual voice of each participating artist to emerge.
